Nathan Gourley

Nathan's dad gave him a fiddle when he was five and he started playing soon after that. Nathan got his start through Suzuki lessons and was exposed to a wide variety of music through festivals. His favorite was the Festival of American Fiddle tunes in Port Townsend Washington, where he was awed by the playing of Liz Carroll, Martin Hayes, Alasdair Fraser, and many others.

Nathan moved to the Twin Cities after graduating from college at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He has been immersing himself in the great scene around here and joined up with The Doon Céilí Band in early 2007. Nathan also performs with fellow Doon-mate Brian Miller.
